I feel it a great privilege to have known Philippa for 5 years.
It was not long after we met that we discovered our 2 families have known each for over 100 years! Our families had come from a stricken Brethren background so we were drawn to each other as we had a common link from the past.
About 85 years ago my mother and Philippa's great aunt (Buttie as she was affectionally called) were close friends from school. Later when I was a child Buttie came and looked after us (4 children, a dog and large house) for 2-3 weeks when my parents were away for medical conferences abroad which included a holiday.
The mission team has lost a faithful member. I valued her judgements, positive suggestions and support. We shall miss her at our monthly meetings.
I have happy memories of our short friendship and will miss her.
